Until recently, my knowledge of AI mostly came from news and independent creators. So, I was curious — how do professors perceive and analyze AI today?

To find out, I attended several open lectures from my alma mater, INSEAD, last week, and I came away with some fascinating insights that I’d love to share.

AI Insights from Professors

1. Is ChatGPT more empathetic than humans?

I’ve often felt that AI provides unexpected “emotional value.”

Surprisingly, this idea was validated by a professor right at the beginning of the lecture.

We tend to assume that the biggest distinction between humans and AI is “human touch” — empathy, emotional connection, humor…

Yet, a study on doctor-patient interactions revealed something unexpected: ChatGPT scored higher than real doctors in terms of empathy.

This suggests that AI isn’t just excelling at “tasks”, but is also carving out a space in “human interactions.”
